Chase and I are beyond excited to announce that we are expecting one of God’s greatest gifts… we are having a baby! We couldn’t be happier or more excited, and we can’t believe how blessed we are. I am thrilled to finally share the news that we are due this October.
The Big News
On a Friday night, in early February, Chase went to pick us up dinner and while he was gone I took a test. It had one bold pink line and when I checked back later I saw a very faint second line! When Chase came home I surprised him with the test, we cried and have been beaming with excitement ever since. It was truly a night I will never forget! I then proceeded to take 3 more test just to be sure! Haha!
On Super Bowl Sunday, we told both of our parents with an early Valentine’s box. Inside, it had little booties and said “This Valentine’s Day is EXTRA sweet, our family is growing by two more feet!” Telling my parents they are going to be grandparents for the first time was a dream come true for me! The older I have gotten the more I have treasured the time and experiences my grandparents poured into me, and I’m so excited for Baby T to get to have those memories too!
While we were in Fort Lauderdale we bought our first pair of baby sandals to take a picture on the beach. We shared the picture with Chase’s siblings making it an unforgettable trip! Chase’s favorite spot/vacation is the beach and being able to share the news this way was something he will never forget.
Nothing melts my heart more like having my nieces come up and kiss my belly or ask when the next time they get to see Baby T is. Being their Aunt and Uncle is just the best and our little babe is already so blessed with the sweetest cousins!
After our first doctor’s appointment we shared the news with the rest of our family and friends. There is truly nothing like the ones you love most having so much joy when sharing our big news! My Nanny texts me weekly checking on me and honestly, these are moments I have dreamed of. I can’t believe I am living this experience and getting to share it with our loved ones!
How I’m Feeling
Around 5 weeks I started feeling nauseous. It would start mid-morning and last most of the day. I only actually got sick one time when we were out to dinner in Cincinnati celebrating Chase’s birthday (poor guy)! Thankfully the nausea has improved over the last couple of weeks. I am so surprised at how exhausted I am from doing nothing. I have never felt this tired in my life, especially after getting a full night of sleep! I can’t tell you how thankful I am for Chase, I always am, but during this pregnancy he has been a saint! All I can say ladies is make sure you find a man that can cook! He has completely taken over cooking and is a champ at catering to my early bedtimes. Nothing excites me more about this baby than thinking about him being a dad, he is made for it! He lights up every time he shares the news that we are expecting. The first thing he does when we wake up on Saturdays is check our baby app and see what size fruit or vegetable Baby T is that week, and it melts my heart!
Love at First Sight
When I scheduled our first doctors appointment they told me we wouldn’t have an ultrasound until 20 weeks. To say I was bummed was an understatement. We went to our first appointment and Chase told our doctor that he is a triplet and that his grandfather is a twin! She checked me and said I was measuring normal for just one child. As we were checking out, she came out and told us she ordered an ultrasound because she had been wrong before! We got to see our little babe that day (there is just one in there) and it was the most amazing sight! When Chase saw our baby’s little heartbeating and moving around he instantly fell in love! The fact that we are becoming parents became that more real!
This is our little miracle, our hearts are full, and we are so excited to have you along for the journey! I have a feeling this is going to be our best year yet!
We can not thank Trevor and Whitney with David + Drew Photography enough for these pictures! They are truly something we will forever treasure!
